Instructions for battery disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or with the delivery of equipment containing batteries, the seller is bound to draw your attention to the following:

As end-user you are legally bound to return used batteries.
After use you can return batteries to the seller or to designated collection points (such as municipal collection sites or stores) free of charge.
You can also return the batteries to the seller by mail.
The seller has to refund the postage for the return of your old battery.

The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meanings:
  • The symbol of the crossed out wheelie bin means that the battery must not be disposed as household waste.
  • Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent of lead.
  • Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 percent of cadmium.
  • Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 percent of mercury.
